The announcement happened in Lagos, Nigeria, near the giant oil facility located inside the Lekki Free Trade Zone area.

People living in Nigeria, other African countries, and abroad can buy shares easily through bank phone applications, stockbroker websites, or local bank branches without stress.

The reason why the company founder created this huge share sale is to raise two point one five trillion Naira so the business can double its oil processing power.

The company wants to grow its production from 700,000 barrels of oil daily to 1.4 million barrels daily by the year 2028.

Beyond raising expansion capital, the company wants regular citizens to own small pieces of the business so local people share in the wealth created from Africa’s natural resources.

The financial regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission, has already reviewed and approved the sale of 4.1 billion shares.

Single share units will cost 525 Naira each, but the company set the minimum buying package at ten shares. This means anyone with just 5,250 Naira can become a part owner of the giant oil factory.

Financial advisers aim to register 10million individual citizens as new owners, which will break all past financial records on the national stock market.

Explaining the true meaning of this share sale during the official launch event, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, stated, “This is the IPO for the people. There is no segregation on who can own the shares.”
