Konza Technopolis, Kenya’s flagship smart city and tech hub development has launched a strategic initiative to attract business process outsourcing (BPO) investments and create digital employment opportunities beyond the capital city of Nairobi.
Kenya’s Technopolis Development Authority is actively promoting Konza Technopolis as a premier destination for business process outsourcing (BPO) and global business services focusing on attracting international investment, expanding digital infrastructure and creating career opportunities outside of Nairobi.
The strategic push was highlighted at the Rift Valley Global Services Forum in Eldoret during a high-level roundtable hosted by the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy alongside the Kenya Investment Authority.
To attract global firms and investors, the authority showcased specialized frameworks designed to accelerate market entry. This includes the BPO Onboarding Framework, which guides incoming businesses seamlessly through the establishment process.
Furthermore, Konza offers advanced digital infrastructure built to support large-scale remote operations, including fully equipped, infrastructure-ready office environments, dependable power supplies alongside high-speed network connectivity and the Konza National Data Centre which provides secure cloud and data management capabilities to back enterprise and BPO operations.

Beyond physical infrastructure, the initiative places a heavy emphasis on workforce development. Through the Jitume Digital Enablement Programme, young people across Kenya gain access to specialized digital skills training and are connected to employment opportunities via local digital hubs.
By partnering closely with county administrations, government agencies, and industry leaders, Konza Technopolis aims to decentralize technological growth bringing sustainable digital employment and economic development to communities across the country.
