Vodafone Business, Cassava Technologies and Elsewedy Electric have announced a strategic partnership to form Africa Data Centers Egypt (ADC Egypt).
Vodafone Business, Cassava Technologies and Egyptian industrial conglomerate Elsewedy Electric have partnered to launch Africa Data Centres Egypt, a joint venture set to construct a major data hub valued at up to $1 billion.
The initial phase will see a $200 million foreign direct investment over the first three years to build out 20 megawatts of compute capacity. Over time, the partners plan to expand total capacity to 200 megawatts as demand grows across North Africa.
The venture combines distinct operational strengths across the three companies. Vodafone Business will handle cloud and enterprise services, Cassava Technologies brings regional data center expertise and Elsewedy Electric will manage energy, civil engineering and physical site delivery.
A central component of the rollout involves building Egypt’s first sovereign artificial intelligence data center. Powered by advanced Nvidia hardware, the facility will offer high-performance processing capabilities directly within the country. This infrastructure enables local enterprises, tech firms and public institutions to run complex AI workloads without transferring sensitive data abroad.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology expects the project to generate approximately 200 direct technical positions alongside 2,000 indirect jobs in construction, operations and maintenance.
By processing and storing data domestically, Egypt aims to strengthen its data security standards while establishing itself as a principal digital node connecting European, Middle Eastern, and African fiber optic networks.
