The Government of Egypt through the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has partnered with global tech leader Intel to train 1 million Egyptian citizens in artificial intelligence annually.
Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has signed a strategic three-year Memorandum of Understanding with global semiconductor leader Intel to train one million Egyptian citizens annually in artificial intelligence.
The agreement was witnessed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hendy and signed by Hoda Baraka, Advisor to the ICT Minister for Technology Talent Development alongside Taha Khalifa, Intel’s General Manager for the Middle East and Africa. The collaborative initiative aims to build national digital capabilities, foster safe technology adoption, and accelerate Egypt’s broader digital transformation goals.
The partnership centers on Intel’s global “AI for Citizens” and “Digital Trust for All” frameworks, designed to simplify artificial intelligence concepts and promote ethical, responsible technology use across everyday and professional settings.
To ensure sustainable delivery, the initiative includes a dedicated Train-the-Trainer program that will certify 1,500 local instructors over three years at a rate of 500 trainers per year. These certified educators will deliver course modules through local educational institutions and digital platforms to reach diverse populations across the country.
To align workforce capabilities with modern digital demand, the initiative targets multiple segments of Egyptian society through tailored training programs. For youth and students, it provides foundational AI coursework and creative-thinking modules designed for children, university students and technical trainees to enhance early career readiness.
For active employees, job seekers and government leaders, the framework delivers targeted reskilling and upskilling programs aimed at driving data-driven decision-making across the public and private sectors.
Additionally, the initiative conducts specialized technical workshops focusing on Intel’s advanced computing infrastructure to deepen local engineering expertise in managing complex hardware systems.

The partnership aligns directly with Egypt’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (2025–2030) which prioritizes integrating digital skills into economic development and public administration.
To showcase local talent, the initiative will also host an annual national AI hackathon. Standout participants and high-performing projects will receive support to present their innovations globally at the annual Intel AI Global Impact Festival.
