Buyers now wait longer for Apple’s new iPhone 18 Pro as second-week orders jump close to last year’s level, according to JPMorgan.
JPMorgan released a fresh market report showing that people who ordered Apple’s new high end smartphone, the iPhone 18 Pro, now have to wait much longer for their phones to be delivered.
The updated market report released on Monday, September 21, 2026, shows that after a slow start in the first week, buyer orders increased rapidly during the second week of pre-orders across major shopping markets around the world.
This news directly affects phone buyers, tech sellers, and everyday consumers who save up money to buy the latest phones in shops or online.
When many people place orders for a new product at the same time, factory workers need more days to make and ship the items to buyers’ houses. For the average person, knowing how long it takes for a phone to arrive helps them plan their money better before placing an order.
Financial experts explained that wait times increased because buyers who were initially waiting to see other phone models have now started placing their orders.
In the first week, many shoppers held back to check information about Apple’s first folding phone, named the Duo. But as more people began placing orders in the second week, the time needed to prepare and deliver the iPhone 18 Pro jumped from just seven days up to 23 days, while the bigger iPhone 18 Pro Max jumped from nineteen days up to 30 days.
Understanding these delivery changes helps everyday buyers know that a long wait time does not mean the company has run out of phones completely.

It simply shows how many people are standing in the digital line to buy the same phone across big countries like America, Germany, Britain, and China.
Explaining what these longer wait times mean for phone buyers and market sales, financial analysts from JPMorgan wrote in their official note, “Although this implies the current pace of demand over the last few days for the Pro lineup is exceeding the prior year cycle, with iPhone Duo not open for pre-order until Oct 16th, critical datapoints to watch would be the magnitude of moderation of lead times into Week 3.”
Pointing out how factory production plans will reveal the true picture later in the year, the analysts added that “supply chain feedback on production plan revisions, typically around November, would be the more definitive signal of demand.”
This update gives phone lovers and shoppers clear information on what to expect when ordering the latest premium devices this season.
As factories work overtime to build and ship more phones to stores, buyers can expect their new devices to arrive safely over the coming weeks.
