The organizers of Africa Tech Festival 2026 incorporating flagship events AfricaCom and AfricaTech have unveiled the core strategic agenda for the upcoming summit in Cape Town.

With just over two months remaining before its commencement, anticipation is building for the 29th edition of the Africa Tech Festival scheduled to take place from November 16 to 19, 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in South Africa.

As the continent’s longest-running and largest technology gathering, the flagship event brings together government ministers, telecommunications executives, technology founders, enterprise leaders and global investors. The upcoming four-day conference aims to address the structural opportunities and obstacles defining Africa’s digital transformation, shifting public discourse from general technological enthusiasm toward targeted, actionable strategies for sustainable economic growth.

A central theme of the 2026 gathering focuses on how African nations can transition from being passive adopters of foreign technology into active developers, owners and exporters of digital solutions.

Event director David Monaghan emphasized that the conference agenda is built around addressing critical, real-world questions across the continent’s tech ecosystem. Expert-led panel sessions and keynotes will tackle the infrastructure requirements needed to support high-growth sectors, particularly the expansion of regional data centers, cross-border fiber networks, and reliable energy supplies.

Furthermore, dedicated tracks at the AI Summit Cape Town will explore how African developers and enterprise organizations can build localized artificial intelligence models, secure domestic data sovereignty and leverage machine learning to address localized challenges in agriculture, healthcare, and financial services.

Ecosystems and Policy Frameworks
Beyond artificial intelligence, the Africa Tech Festival framework spans interconnected technology pillars including AfricaTech, AfricaIgnite and core telecommunications streams.

The festival serves as a primary platform for cross-border collaboration, giving African startups and high-growth scale-ups direct access to international venture capital and policy leaders. By bringing together regulatory authorities, mobile network operators and digital creators under one roof, the event aims to foster consensus on regional connectivity standards, fair spectrum allocation and unified trade policies under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Organizers conclude that by aligning public policy with private investment, the 2026 festival will help build a resilient, competitive digital economy capable of empowering local talent and accelerating long-term socio-economic growth across the continent.
