Mastercard has partnered with mobile games publisher Tamatem Games to integrate Mastercard Gateway into Tamatem Plus expanding localized payment options for digital content and in-game purchases across more than 13 markets in the Middle East and Africa.
Global payment technology leader Mastercard has announced a strategic partnership with Jordan-headquartered mobile gaming publisher Tamatem to transform payment experiences for video game enthusiasts across 13 markets in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
Under the collaboration, Mastercard Gateway delivered via the cloud-based Mastercard Merchant Cloud will serve as the primary processing engine behind Tamatem Plus, Tamatem’s digital commerce and payment platform tailored for gaming and digital content. The deal aims to streamline online checkout experiences for gamers while providing digital content creators and gaming studios with secure, seamless localized payment infrastructure across fast-growing gaming markets.
Tamatem Plus powers more than 30 localized storefronts, providing consumers with access to over 50 regional and international payment methods through a single integration.
Integrating Mastercard Gateway directly into the platform provides Tamatem Plus with direct access to multiple local and international bank acquirers, round-the-clock technical support and continuous system monitoring. This connection ensures higher transaction approval rates and faster checkout times for mobile gamers purchasing in-game content, subscriptions and virtual currency, eliminating long-standing payment friction across the region.
