Airtel Uganda expands its Adopt A School Programme to give 3,349 students access to 40 computers, internet, and modern learning spaces.

Airtel Uganda has officially expanded its flagship Adopt A School Programme to reach 3,349 student learners. Airtel publicly announced the major community education update on October 19, 2026, marking a significant step toward bringing modern technology directly into public classrooms.

Under this expanded digital education initiative, participating primary and secondary schools in underserved areas are receiving fully refurbished computer laboratories, 40 brand-new desktop computers, and high-speed internet connectivity.

In addition to providing computer hardware, the company is upgrading physical classroom buildings, repairing classroom roofs, and providing new school desks to create a safe learning environment.

Through this school adoption model, Airtel Uganda is bridging the gap between city children who have easy access to home computers and village children who have never touched a computer keyboard before.

By zero-rating approved educational websites and installing fast internet connections, teachers can now prepare digital lesson plans, while young learners can study mathematics, science, and reading using interactive online tools.

Bringing desktop computers and fast internet to rural classrooms is very important for everyday parents, school teachers, and village children across Uganda.

In many remote communities, children learn about computers only by drawing keyboard pictures on chalkboards because their schools cannot afford real technology.

When children learn how to use real computers at a young age, they gain vital digital skills that help them pass national examinations, communicate easily, and qualify for skilled jobs when they grow up.

Furthermore, having internet access in local schools helps teachers get modern teaching guides, ensuring that village students receive the same quality of education as children studying in expensive private city schools.

Explaining why bringing digital learning equipment directly into underserved communities helps build a better future for young people, executive leadership at Airtel Uganda emphasized their commitment to expanding technology access.

Highlighting how digital tools transform everyday classroom learning, company representatives stated that through the Adopt A School Programme, Airtel Uganda is seeking to bring digital learning opportunities closer to underserved communities and strengthen the role of technology in education across the country.

Reiterating that providing computers and reliable internet connectivity gives every child a fair chance to succeed in the modern digital world, community education managers praised the long-term impact of the program.

Supporting school improvement projects ensures that “the schools will receive refurbished computer laboratories, 40 computers and high-speed internet connectivity, alongside improvements to their infrastructure to support teaching and learning”.

Airtel Uganda works closely with the Ministry of Education and Sports and UNICEF to roll out digital learning hubs across the nation.

As thousands of students log onto their new classroom computers for the first time, local teachers and parents celebrate the arrival of modern technology tools that promise a brighter academic future for Ugandan children.
