Kenya and Fortinet Team Up to Fight Cyber Crime with Smart AI Technology

Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy has partnered with global cybersecurity leader Fortinet to deploy advanced AI-driven cyber threat intelligence across national digital infrastructure.

The government of Kenya has met with top bosses from global security company Fortinet to build stronger digital defenses for the country. The partnership aims to use artificial intelligence (AI) to protect online government services, bank systems and public websites from cybercriminals.

During the high-level meeting, leaders talked about how modern hackers are now using AI tools to carry out fast, automated attacks. These cybercriminals use smart software to steal passwords, create fake emails and trick people into giving away sensitive information.

To stop these threats, Kenya plans to use Fortinet’s smart security systems. Instead of waiting for an attack to happen, these AI systems scan network traffic 24 hours a day to catch suspicious behavior and stop hackers before they can steal data or disrupt public services.

Beyond providing security software, the plan focuses on training Kenyan government IT workers to handle modern cyber risks. Both sides agreed to share real-time information about online threats so that public agencies can react quickly together.

Kenyan officials noted that building strong digital security is essential as more citizens use mobile money, online government services, and digital banking every day. By working with Fortinet, Kenya aims to keep its online economy safe, protect public money and build trust in the nation’s technology systems.
