Apple gets ready to show its first folding iPhone Ultra that opens like a small book and turns into a mini tablet.

Apple is preparing to show its very first folding mobile phone called the iPhone Ultra. Industry news updates confirmed on Monday, September 7, 2026, that the massive phone company is set to reveal this special folding phone alongside its regular top tier devices.

Tech lovers around the world are very excited because this is the first time the company is building a mobile phone that opens and closes like a paper notebook or small book.

The big announcement is planned for the company’s annual technology show in California, United States, while phone buyers across Africa, India, and the rest of the world watch the event online.

Reports from global supply chain workers show that the factory workers have already been asked to produce ten million units of this new folding phone, showing that many people want to buy it immediately after release.

The reason why Apple built this new device is to give phone users two tools inside one single pocket body. When the device is folded shut, it looks like a normal small phone that easily slips into a trousers pocket.

When a user opens it up, the screen stretches wide into a large tablet size similar to a mini iPad, making it easy to watch videos, read news, and do work tasks smoothly.

In addition, company engineers spent years building special metal joints inside the folding area so that the screen stays flat without showing any ugly crease line down the middle.

To make the phone strong and lightweight, the body is crafted from strong metals like titanium and special liquid metal bearings.

The device runs on an ultra fast A20 Pro computer chip that speeds up daily operations while using less battery power.

However, because these new materials cost a lot of money to make, technology experts predict the retail cost will start around $2,000, making it the most expensive mobile phone the company has ever created for wealthy buyers and technology fans.

Sharing insights on how the new device will look and perform, industry insider Ming Chi Kuo explained that “the device could be short and squat, making it easy to slip into a pocket, much like a passport.”

Explaining why the screen setup will stand out from existing Android folding phones, technology analyst Jeff Pu noted that “Apple may use Touch ID instead of Face ID for the foldable device” while building an outer body composed of “aluminium and titanium, along with a titanium and liquid metal hinge designed to stay sturdy for frequent folding.”

This new foldable phone release represents a major step forward in mobile phone engineering for modern users. With its broad screen setup, strong body protection, and fast internal components, the company aims to change how people use mobile devices for work, learning, and daily communication across the globe.
