Maroc Telecom recorded $2.92 billion in 9 month revenue, driven by strong growth in Moov Africa mobile data and mobile money services.

Maroc Telecom has officially recorded MAD 28.68 billion, equal to $2.92 billion, in total group revenue during the first 9 months of the financial year.

The corporate financial performance update was publicly published on October 23, 2026, showing a five point one percent revenue increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

Under this 9 month financial performance report, the telecom giant expanded its overall business reach across multiple African countries through its international branch network operating under the Moov Africa brand.

The group’s foreign subsidiaries generated MAD 15.18 billion, bringing in over half of the total revenue with a strong  6.9% financial growth.

In contrast, the company’s local operations inside Morocco grew at a slower pace of two point seven percent to hit MAD 14.33 billion.

Across its international operations, mobile internet data revenue jumped 10.4%, fixed internet sales rose 16.8%, and mobile money payment revenues surged by 18.8%.

Total group customer numbers reached nearly 78 million subscribers by late September, with fast-growing African markets like Burkina Faso and Togo leading subscriber gains with customer growth rates near 20%.

Understanding how telecommunications companies make money from mobile internet data, home wifi cables, and mobile money apps is very important for everyday phone users, local shop owners, and families across Africa.

For many years, regular mobile users mainly paid for simple voice phone calls and SMS text messages to talk to relatives.

Today, millions of people use mobile phones to stream videos, study online lessons, browse social media platforms, pay shopkeepers, and transfer money to distant relatives without visiting traditional bank halls.

When telecom companies invest heavily in fast internet masts and secure mobile money software, regular citizens gain access to cheap digital services that make daily life easier and help small local businesses grow.

Highlighting the company’s strategic decision to focus on internet data packages, fiber home cables, and mobile banking applications across developing markets, company updates noted that “demand for mobile data, fixed Internet, and mobile money helped drive growth across its African operations”.

Reassuring investors that high-speed internet expansions will continue to reach more communities while managing operational costs efficiently, corporate management detailed the progress of local product rollouts across English, French, and Portuguese-speaking regions.

Demonstrating how simplified digital packages attract more budget-conscious households, the company reports added that “in September, a new, simplified value proposition was launched in South Africa, providing subscribers with more content, greater choice and better value for the same price”.

Maroc Telecom continues to build strong fiber-optic networks across its markets. As mobile internet usage and phone app transfers expand rapidly across the continent, millions of subscribers look forward to enjoying faster, cheaper, and more reliable phone connections.
