MultiChoice Nigeria overhauled its DStv and GOtv packages, introducing simplified subscription plans and lower prices effective November 2026.

MultiChoice Nigeria has officially announced a massive restructuring of all DStv and GOtv television subscription packages.

The corporate business update was publicly shared during a media briefing on October 27, 2026, marking one of the largest product changes since the company was acquired by French broadcasting giant CANAL+.

Under this brand-new service rollout, the company is completely replacing its old television bundles with eight simplified new plans effective November 5, 2026.

For DStv users, the fresh lineup introduces four main choices: Starter priced at six thousand naira monthly, Select at eleven thousand naira, Sports at twenty-one thousand naira, and Premium at forty-four thousand five hundred naira.

For GOtv users, the new plans are categorized into Easy, Starter, Select, and Sports options. The new package structure is designed to solve customer complaints about too many confusing decoder plans, allowing everyday viewers to choose exactly what they want to watch.

Additionally, football lovers subscribing to the twenty-one thousand naira DStv Sports package will now gain full access to all Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches without needing to pay for more expensive tiers.

Selected weekend football matches will also be shown on lower-priced packages to give ordinary families better value for their monthly subscriptions.

Making television entertainment simpler, clearer, and more affordable is very important for everyday families, local football fans, shop owners, and working households across Nigeria.

In recent months, many ordinary citizens found it difficult to understand complex cable subscription prices and struggled to keep up with rising monthly decoder fees just to watch their favorite sports and local movies.

When television companies simplify their package options and reduce monthly prices, hardworking parents can easily select affordable TV bundles that fit comfortably inside their household monthly budgets.

Providing cheaper access to live football matches and family entertainment helps ordinary people enjoy quality relaxation time at home without financial stress.

Explaining how listening to customer complaints and reviewing complex subscription options led to this massive product overhaul, executive leadership shared key insights during the launch event.

Highlighting the company’s goal to make TV packages much simpler and easier for everyone to understand, Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, Kemi Omotosho, stated that “we have overhauled the entire strategy of the business, and what we’re reporting to you today is just one piece of that strategy”.

Pointing out that having too many confusing decoder packages made it hard for ordinary subscribers to choose the right plan for their homes, the company CEO added further explanations.

Emphasizing that the new simplified structure puts customers first, Kemi Omotosho noted that “we think we have too many packs today; if I ask anyone here what pack they are on, maybe five out of seven might remember, but two might not remember because there are just too many packs”.

Subscribers are welcoming the new pricing changes. As the November rollout approaches, television viewers across Nigeria look forward to enjoying cheaper, simpler, and better entertainment packages on their home screens.
