Access Partnership a global public policy firm specializing in technology has formed a strategic alliance with AfriTrade to accelerate the deployment of digital infrastructure and harmonize regulatory frameworks across East Africa.

Technology policy advisory firm Access Partnership and AfriTrade Consulting Group have formed a strategic alliance to help investors, technology companies and governments navigate regulatory frameworks and secure licenses for major digital infrastructure projects across East Africa.

The collaboration combines Access Partnership’s global experience in spectrum management, satellite licensing and tech policy with AfriTrade’s regional regulatory expertise and local relationships in Kenya and the wider East African market. Through support from a partner law firm, the alliance aims to streamline the journey from initial project strategy to fully licensed operations.

The partnership focuses on cutting through administrative bottlenecks that frequently delay critical technology projects such as obtaining spectrum rights, landing permissions and operating licenses.

As East Africa prepares for major upcoming technology investments including new international subsea cables, regional coastal cable projects, direct-to-device satellite connectivity and massive data center developments navigating local regulatory requirements is essential. Providing a unified advisory approach helps operators launch high-speed connectivity services and digital infrastructure much faster.

Leadership from both organizations noted that successful digital expansion requires a combination of international technical standards and deep, on-the-ground execution knowledge. By bridging this gap, the alliance aims to help bring advanced satellite systems, robust data networks and modern digital infrastructure to market efficiently, ensuring local communities benefit from accelerated economic and technological growth.
