Airtel Uganda upgrades Kibeedi Primary School in Kibaale, giving 1,010 students a computer lab, internet, and clean water facilities.
Telecommunications operator Airtel Uganda has officially handed over major school infrastructure upgrades at Kibeedi Primary School in Kibaale District.
The official commissioning ceremony took place on October 19, 2026, bringing modern digital tools and improved school facilities that directly benefit 1,010 student learners.
Under this newly completed community development project, the telecommunications company built and furnished a brand-new computer laboratory fitted with ten desktop computers and fast internet connectivity.
Beyond providing digital learning tools, the project completely renovated old classroom blocks, built modern, clean toilets, and installed rainwater harvesting tanks to provide clean drinking water across the school compound.
Executed under the Adopt A School Programme driven by the Airtel Africa Foundation, this flagship initiative focuses on improving school buildings and bringing computer skills to children living in quiet rural villages.
Local government leaders, school headteachers, classroom teachers, happy parents, and community elders gathered at the school grounds to celebrate the arrival of the new computer laboratory.
By connecting rural classrooms directly to high-speed internet, young boys and girls can now learn how to type, perform online reading exercises, and explore science lessons using modern computer software.
Upgrading village primary schools with real computers, internet access, and clean drinking water is very important for everyday parents, rural teachers, and young children across Uganda.
In many rural areas, primary schools lack decent toilets, rainwater tanks, and basic teaching equipment, forcing young children to study in broken classrooms without ever seeing a real computer keyboard.
When primary schools receive clean water tanks, children stay healthy and spend more time studying in class instead of falling sick or walking long distances to fetch dirty water.
At the same time, giving rural children early access to desktop computers helps them build strong digital skills, pass national exams, and compete fairly with city children for top jobs in the future.
Explaining why upgrading basic rural school facilities and providing modern computer and internet access helps build a brighter future for young children, executive leaders from the telecom firm shared their long-term vision with community members.

Highlighting how combining physical school repairs with digital tools helps every child learn better, corporate managers emphasized that the initiative is designed to bring digital education right to the doorstep of rural children.
Company representatives noted that “the upgrades include a refurbished computer laboratory equipped with 10 computers and fast internet connectivity, renovated classrooms, improved sanitation facilities and rainwater harvesting infrastructure”.
Reaffirming their commitment to supporting local communities and bringing digital learning tools to underserved primary schools across the nation, project managers praised the warm welcome from Kibaale parents and district leaders.
Highlighting the core mission of their community investments, education managers added that “the Adopt A School Programme is an initiative of the Airtel Africa Foundation that supports educational infrastructure and access to digital learning resources across the communities where Airtel operates”.
Airtel Uganda continues to expand its digital learning partnership across different districts. As one thousand and ten students at Kibeedi Primary School begin taking their daily lessons inside clean classrooms and typing on real desktop computers, local parents and teachers celebrate a new chapter of academic growth for Kibaale District.
