Vodafone Qatar appoints TPAY as its main billing partner to allow customers to buy online apps directly with their phone airtime.

Major Middle Eastern telecommunications operator Vodafone Qatar has officially appointed mobile payment provider TPAY as its exclusive Direct Operator Billing aggregator.

The strategic business partnership agreement was formally announced on October 19, 2026, following a competitive bidding process among technology finance companies.

Under this new operational contract, TPAY will build and manage the digital payment connections that link international online sellers directly to Vodafone Qatar’s mobile network.

Through this setup, more than two point one million mobile subscribers across Qatar can now buy games, music, movies, software, and online services by deducting money straight from their mobile phone airtime or adding the cost to their monthly phone bills.

The two technology firms have worked together since 2018, previously helping local customers buy items safely on major global app stores including Google Play and the Apple App Store.

By appointing TPAY as the main bridge between mobile users and online merchants, Vodafone Qatar allows global software makers and content creators to collect payments easily from customers who do not have credit cards or prefer not to share private bank details online.

Making online payments through simple phone airtime balance is very important for everyday phone users, young app lovers, and online business owners across the region.

Many people like using mobile phones to play online games, watch movies, or use learning apps, but they often struggle to make online payments because they lack international credit cards or fear online bank fraud.

Direct phone billing allows regular citizens to pay for digital services safely and instantly using their normal phone airtime credit.

At the same time, this payment system helps small technology creators reach millions of new buyers, boosting digital trade and making online shopping simple for everyone.

Reaffirming that choosing the payment platform expands simple payment choices for local phone users while helping online merchants grow their sales, executive management praised the milestone. Chief Operating Officer of Vodafone Qatar, Baran Yurdagul, added that “appointing tpay as Vodafone Qatar’s exclusive Direct Operator Billing aggregator further strengthens our partnership and reflects the trust we have built together”.

Welcoming the opportunity to connect more digital service sellers directly to millions of local phone users across the Middle East, top management at the payment platform celebrated the win.

Expressing gratitude for being selected after a tough selection process, Group Chief Executive Officer of TPAY, Işık Uman, stated that “being selected as Vodafone Qatar’s exclusive Direct Operator Billing aggregator following a competitive RFP is a strong validation of that trust and of our platform capabilities”.

TPAY continues to expand its digital payment footprint across the Middle East and North Africa. As the new system goes live, millions of phone users in Qatar can enjoy fast, simple, and safe digital payments using their phone airtime.
