Lebara Officially Launches Mobile Services in Nigeria

Lebara, the global mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) has officially launched its telecom and mobile data services in Nigeria.

Lebara Nigeria has officially rolled out its commercial mobile telecommunications services nationwide, marking its formal entry into Nigeria’s mobile market following the completion of its pre-launch testing phase.

Operating under a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) license, the brand enters Africa’s largest economy by leasing capacity from existing network infrastructure rather than building its own towers, enabling a software-driven asset-light model designed to offer competitive data pricing and reliable voice services.

With the full commercial launch now live, prospective subscribers can obtain Lebara SIM cards and register for mobile services across the country.

To manage subscriptions, account setups and data packages, Lebara is directing customers to its MyLebara mobile application, available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

For physical purchases and onboarding, the company has partnered with retail outlet Slot, making SIM cards available at selected Slot stores nationwide while also inviting independent distributors to register via its official portal.

The commercial rollout transitions Lebara from its initial market preparation phase which included a soft launch earlier in the year into full public availability using its allocated 0724 number series.

Welcoming new subscribers with its “Welcome to Sabi” campaign, Lebara’s leadership, headed by CEO Teniola Stuffman, stated that the company’s operational model aims to directly target common consumer pain points, including high data costs, coverage gaps and service reliability issues, while catering to youth, business, and underserved market segments.
