The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) of Ghana in partnership with the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation has launched National Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026.
Ghana has officially launched National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2026 initiating a nationwide campaign to bolster digital resilience, safeguard financial infrastructure and protect citizens against cyber threats.
Officially kicked off on October 1, 2026, the month-long initiative focuses on strengthening cybersecurity protections as digital financial services, mobile money networks and online banking continue to expand across the country. Organizers emphasized that maintaining a safe online environment is critical to ensuring long-term public trust in Ghana’s fast-growing digital economy.
A primary theme of the 2026 campaign is the necessity of multi-sector cooperation between public regulatory agencies, financial institutions and private enterprises.
High-level policy discussions held during the launch highlighted that securing digital ecosystems requires coordinated defense strategies rather than isolated individual efforts. By aligning government institutions with commercial banks, fintech firms and telecommunications operators, the national initiative aims to build a unified cyber-defense framework capable of detecting, mitigating and responding to sophisticated financial fraud and system vulnerabilities.

Beyond institutional defenses, NCSAM 2026 places a heavy emphasis on public education and individual cyber hygiene across all segments of society.
Throughout October, public awareness programs will educate citizens and business owners on practical risk prevention measures, including identifying phishing attempts, safeguarding personal financial data, and securing mobile wallets. By equipping consumers with the knowledge needed to recognize online scams and navigate digital platforms safely, Ghana aims to mitigate financial loss, protect consumer assets and sustain the momentum of its digital transformation.
