Software maker Zoho launches a local edition of Zoho Books to help Nigerian businesses automate VAT and send electronic tax invoices easily.

Zoho has launched a special Nigerian edition of its finance app called Zoho Books to help small and large business owners handle tax payments easily.

The official announcement was made on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The computer program is built specifically to obey Nigerian money laws, allowing shop owners, company managers, and traders to calculate Value Added Tax, which people commonly call VAT, and send digital receipts without making mistakes or breaking tax rules.

The new tax management tools are available to business owners across all states in Nigeria, from major trade hubs in Lagos and Kano to growing commercial towns across the country.

Through this computer program, Nigerian business owners can manage their daily money movement, create professional customer bills, check their stock levels, and send electronic receipts directly to government tax portals through their phones or office laptops.

The company also introduced local editions for its other finance programs like Zoho Billing, Zoho Invoice, and Zoho Inventory, bringing a full set of digital money tools to the country.

Zoho built this specialized version for Nigeria to remove the heavy stress and long hours business owners spend doing manual tax accounting on paper.

The Nigerian government, through the Nigeria Revenue Service, requires businesses to collect accurate VAT taxes and report their daily sales through computer systems.

By using smart computer tools inside the app, the software calculates exact tax amounts automatically, formats tax schedules for the government’s TaxProMax portal, and sends electronic invoices straight to government tax servers with a single click, saving business owners from heavy fines or tax calculation errors.

This software release helps small and medium business owners stay honest and organized while running their everyday shops.

By replacing messy paper record books with automated digital entries, company owners can see how much profit they are making every day, track unpaid bills, and manage bank payments safely.

The app also features a smart AI helper named Zia that helps users find cash flow records and automatically sort bank records using simple everyday words.

Zoho Vice President of Global Product Strategy Prashant Ganti stated, “Nigeria has one of the most dynamic business landscapes, and its successful businesses know that there is a competitive advantage that comes from being compliant and having end to end visibility into their finances. Yet many businesses still carry a significant amount of manual and time-consuming overhead when it comes to meeting their VAT and e-invoicing obligations. Zoho Books and our broader suite of finance and operations apps change that equation.”

Pointing out how smart computer features make finance work faster for every user, the company executive added, “The barrier to AI adoption in finance among Nigerian businesses is not reluctance but simply awareness. Zoho Books removes this barrier by natively embedding AI capabilities that will help businesses operate more efficiently.”

This software update marks a great step forward for digital business tools across Nigeria and the wider African technology market.

As more local businesses swap paper record books for smart mobile software, everyday traders can spend less time worrying about complicated tax math and more time growing their business, serving customers, and building a better financial future.
