CrediMax has partnered with Mastercard to introduce advanced, AI-powered “Agentic Commerce” to Bahrain.

CrediMax, one of Bahrain’s premier providers of electronic payment solutions has announced a strategic partnership with Mastercard to introduce and scale “agentic commerce” for merchants across the Kingdom.

The collaboration makes CrediMax one of the first institutions in Bahrain to deploy Mastercard’s advanced AI tools, marking a major leap forward in how consumers discover, shop and pay online.

As artificial intelligence begins to fundamentally reshape the retail landscape, the partnership leverages Mastercard Merchant Cloud and the innovative Agent Suite for Merchants. This technology integrates intelligent AI agents directly into merchant-owned e-commerce platforms.

Rather than forcing shoppers to manually browse, compare options, and navigate checkout pages, smart AI assistants will be able to guide consumers through the entire shopping journey. From initial product discovery and selection to secure payment processing and post-purchase support, the system streamlines the online retail experience.

A critical focus of the collaboration is ensuring that automated AI transactions remain secure and completely under the user’s control through Agent Pay, Mastercard’s technical framework for agentic commerce.

The framework establishes trusted digital identities for AI agents, allowing them to be authenticated, authorized, and governed by strict consumer-defined permissions. By using specialized agentic tokens, every transaction initiated by an AI assistant operates strictly within limits set by the user, giving shoppers full visibility and control over when, where and how their money is spent.

“As AI agents become part of the purchasing journey, our priority is to help merchants respond with confidence and turn emerging opportunities into business growth. Working with Mastercard brings together our understanding of Bahrain’s merchant community and its global expertise in commerce and payments.”

Echoing this enthusiasm, Saud Swar, Country Manager for Mastercard, emphasized the company’s commitment to building the technology and security foundations necessary to help regional businesses adopt agent-driven commerce responsibly and at scale.
