TPC Africa has officially launched a new Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in South Africa, targeting the country’s competitive telecommunications landscape.
Bathabile Moreki, founder of The Perfume Co Africa (TPC Africa) has officially launched TPC Africa Mobile, a new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) operating in South Africa using MTN’s network infrastructure.
The new platform combines affordable mobile voice and data services with integrated digital payment features designed to cater to both everyday consumers and local entrepreneurs.
By leveraging MTN’s established network coverage rather than building physical cellular towers, TPC Africa Mobile delivers prepaid connectivity with flexible bundles starting as low as ZAR 1.50. Customers can also easily switch to the new network while keeping their existing phone numbers through standard mobile number portability.
The service is managed directly via a dedicated mobile app available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. In addition to standard voice, data, SMS and combined bundles, the platform features a built-in MyWallet tool that enables users to purchase vouchers, pay utility bills, buy electricity and manage multiple SIM profiles.

The rollout builds upon TPC Africa’s existing commercial network of over 300,000 independent business owners across the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Eligible entrepreneurs within this network will have opportunities to earn commissions by selling airtime and data bundles to their customers.
The initial launch is focused exclusively on prepaid services within South Africa, intentionally excluding eSIMs and postpaid options for now as the company monitors user adoption and engagement. Depending on performance and regulatory approvals, future expansion into other African markets remains a possibility.
